Jeff Schultz, Owner and Financial Advisor
Even as a child Jeff was working to get more interest on his credit union account. He likes working with people too, and no profession combines his interests quite like helping his clients meet their financial planning and retirement income goals.
In a small town people talk, and that’s something Jeff’s counting on. He’s built his business based on word of mouth, and knows you have to work hard. He also believes the client comes first. That’s why for over 20 years he’s dedicated his career to making sure the residents of Columbia County and the surrounding area have a competent source for financial information.
As a student, Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oregon State University, and his Master of Science in personal financial planning from the College of Financial Planning.
When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Leanna, and his daughter, Olivia, as well as fishing, kayaking, going to the beach, playing with his two Labrador retrievers, woodworking, and gardening.

Janet Barrett, Director of Operations
Janet is the first person to greet everyone who walks through our door. She maintains the client database, filing system and spreadsheets, submits applications and service requests and makes sure the office runs smoothly.
Janet has been with SFS right after it was established in 2013, she truly cares for our clients and always goes above and beyond to make sure they are taken care of. She is a very dedicated employee, rarely ever misses a day and is one of our offices go to people. When Janet isn’t at the office she enjoys working on D.I.Y projects around her house, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her dogs.

Michael Leipzig, Medicare Insurance Specialist
Michael was brought on to the SFS team in early 2019. He is our Medicare and health insurance resource who helps people better understand their options in the health insurance world.
Michael grew up in Scappoose during his formative years before moving to Southern California. After graduating from California Lutheran University in 2013, Michael moved to Hawaii. While on the island Michael was a substitute teacher by day and waited tables in the evening.

James Ryan, Associate Planner
As an associate financial planner James is involved with many aspects of the business, including client service, Charles Schwab service, new business and helping out wherever he is needed. James takes pride in being a financial resource
for those in our community.
James joined the team at Schultz FS in summer 2021, by way of US Bank where he had been working for the last few years. Originally born and raised in Chicago Illinois, James has been living in the Portland area for the last four years. He is a long suffering Bears fan, and is continually impressed with the natural beauty of the PNW.

Jakob Robbins, Marketing Manager
Jakob oversees all marketing materials and social media content for SFS. He also takes care of organizing and planning events, such as our annual Client Appreciation Day, Client Christmas party, the Giving Tree, and more.
Jakob was raised in Columbia County and loves the community. He enjoys playing and watching football, especially his favorite NFL team, the Baltimore Ravens. Jakob really likes participating in Fantasy Football with his friends. When football isn’t around, he has fun hanging out with his fiancé and his best friend.
